Afro pop artist Vumomsé, is back again with an electrifying single entitled "Move It" to end the year in style. The newest member of Douala based label Calabash Music spiced up his jubilant and exuberant style of Gospel/ inspirational music with a technical hip hop blend that will most definitely get everyone to the dancefloor.

Vumomsé teamed up with Cameroon's finest producer Djess Panebo to beautifully craft "Move It" which is also polished and mixed by Central Africa's number one producer SlimBeatz. "Move It" video is directed by Dr. Nkeng Stephens one of Africa's best and it features actress Malvis Ann and AFRIMMA Awards 2016 Best Dancer Brenda Dery.

CALABASH MUSIC OWNED BY WAX DEY TO PAY SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO ESEKA VICTIMS DURING CONCERT WITH YEMI ALADE...

Calabash Music, the concert organisers for the upcoming Wax Dey & Yemi Alade oncert on November 12^th at Palais des Sports Yaoundé, have announced their special tribute which will be paid to the Eseka train crash victims and their families. 10% of all tickets sold will go directly towards assisting victims of the crash.

“We are calling on the public, corporate bodies and other artists to join us in this movement, which will go beyond the concert.” said Wax Dey, who is well known across the world for running massive humanitarian campaigns. 

The concert will be hosted by Tito and Nene Shadzeka.

Calabash Music also announced a line-up of guest artists for the concert, including famous rapper, Koppo and award-winning international songstress Gasha. Breakout rap sensation Stanis, Galaxy J1, Sama Ndango, Nadine Murielle, Nabcis, Tony Sunshyne, D.A.W and J Mallo are some of the other artists that have ticked their names to entertain at this music showcase.

STANIS USES LYRICAL SATIRE TO EXPOSE THE VICES AND PERVERSITY IN OUR COMMUNITY...

Calabash Music releases the visuals for ‘Faux Weh’, a song by their newly signed hip hop artist Stanis. The video is an introduction of the creative capacity that the rapper possesses. Stanis sings in English, French and Pidgin, revealing the affinity that people have for the 'easy way out' (Faux Weh) in our communities. In a light, lyrical - almost playful - tone, he exposes several vices that have unfortunately become the norm in our society today. And he does so on a bouncy afro trap beat produced by label mate; DJ K+

On the video, director Dr. Nkeng Stephens infuses a creative twist that further brings Stanis' storytelling to life. It portrays the artist playing various vicious roles whilst also seeking redemption from his bad ways. So what kicks off as a personification of the glorification of vice, ends up becoming a call to action for us to become more virtuous people. ROMANCE TAKES OVER WAX DEY IN NEW 360 VIDEO FEATURING NASTY C...

Calabash Music has released the video for ‘360’ by their award winning front artist Wax Dey featuring South African rapper Nasty C.

The song was produced by Calabash Music’s in-house producer Cornel with Wax Dey singing in English, French, pidgin and akum, hitting falsettos and high notes that give life to the song. Nasty C further compliments the song by bringing his smooth rap flow.

The video was directed by South African video director Mazi C.I Jizzle on location in South Africa. It unveils the very essence of the song; romantic dinners, movie nights, candle lights…it is a celebration of love. We get to see a side of Wax Dey we have never seen before. STANIS THE SCHOOL DROP-OUT BATTLES TO BE CAMEROON'S RAP KING...

Cameroon's new international music label, Calabash Music has announced the signing of its first hip hop artist named Stanis.

Born in Bamenda and currently based in Buea, Stanis 'Le Dragon' is a fluently bilingual guitarist, rapper and singer whose music can be described as afro trap.

After having one of his songs fall in the hands of Cornel, a South African based Cameroonian music producer signed to Calabash Music, his music was auditioned by the A&R committee who were impressed by his versatility, singing and rapping ability, rhythms and hard punch lines. A few meetings later at the Calabash Music office in Akwa Douala, a deal was reached with its A&R representative, Wax Dey.    

“Calabash Music is really excited to have such a talented rapper on board ­ we will move swiftly to release the materials we are working on because Cameroon is hungry for new talent that can be sold to the world." stated Calabash Music publicist Clarisse Ndinge.  

 

"I write my music with the help of a guitar, but my rap music is very commercial. I make music for the masses and I'm ready to take over. My team is fire. Cameroonian hip hop will not be the same after Stanis ­ so watch this space." Stanis added.

WAX DEY'S 360 DEGREES ALBUM OUT NOW...

Award winning artist and entrepreneur; Wax Dey, has released a new album titled; ‘360 Degrees’. 

The album is a bundle of melodies, Wax Dey has succeeded to fuse music genres from all regions of Africa in this one album from ‘House’ from South Africa, ‘Afro-beat’ from West Africa, ‘Zouk’ from the Caribbean, ‘Makossa, Njang’ from Cameroon, and ‘RnB’ and ‘Hip Hop’ from the West. Wax Dey reveals his soul in the album. He translates the influences he has gathered from the different places he has visited in Africa and the world in this album in a soulful way that is contagious.

The album has 11 tracks with collaborations from top artists all over Africa such as Yemi Alade, Omawumi, Banky W, Runtown, Kayswitch, and Shaydee from Nigeria; Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Simphiwe Dana, Lection, Jaden and Ruff Sketch from South Africa; and Stanis from Cameroon. He says the album was inspired by his collaborations with all these artistes.
