After 4 years away from the main scene, Pandita comes back in with full force partnering with Nigerian producer Wale Owoade in a song entitled Hallelujah Praise coincidentally released on her birthday and Thanksgiving day - November 24th.

Originally from Mamfe, Pandita was raised in a Christian home primarily by her grandparents and aunts, with dregree of Godliness instilled in her. While at EHS, her passion grew even stronger as she was determined in fulfilling her God’s given assignment which was to spread the gospel through music.

Moving from Cameroon to the United States in 2010, she was introduced into pro-music production by Cameroonian singer Naomi Achu. Pandita crafted her first single “Life Don Better” in 2012 with the help of sound engineer Walta Blackson and a Cameroon based Producer Joseph Dinka’a aka Joe Piano.

In 2013, Pandita was nominated for Best Gospel artist in the maiden edition of SONNAH Awards, which took place in Yaounde. Pandita there on took a while off the main scene to focus on her academics and to build her brand. While away, she started a new interest in community service, that help randomly selected underprivileged and orphans in indigenous areas of Cameroon made possible by the yearly praise and worship events she organises in her resident city of Cincinnati, OH. She actively got back in the scene early 2016 with the help of Nigerian born, American-based Producer Wale Owoade with a medley cover of popular gospel worship songs including “Miracle Worker” by Glowreeyah Braimah.

This cover caught the eyes of many new followers from all around the globe. In the Autumn of 2016, she was recognised as the most valuable Cameroonian Gospel artist at the Diaspora Entertainment Awards which took place in Maryland.

Pandita also draws her inspiration from various artists with varying arrays of genres, some of which are Bukola Bekes, Tasha Cobbs, Ronke Adesoken, Mary Mary, Stella Damasus, Chioma Jesus, Nathaniel Bassey, Grace Forlu, and many more. In line with the first Corporate Awards in Cameroon, FabAfriq Magazine is organising a “Women in Leadership Summit” scheduled for the 8th of December 2016 at Pullman Hotel from 10:30 am.

Women’s contributions in decision making positions are no longer discussed in terms of equality but in terms of effectiveness and value adding results, this is the reason why the summit is organised with a great line-up of women to discuss what works for them and how you can make it work for you.

The Corporate Award Women in Leadership Summit will recognise the innovator in women and will seek to encourage them to take the lead roles in the corporate world. Most often, discussions and analysis about women as leaders in business focus on directors, CEOs, and to a lesser extent, the ordinary employees. Targeting women from all walks of life, this initiative aims at guiding the women on best leadership practices that will impact career progression. It is all about the women kindling the dexterity in each other, sharing their experiences and strategies, and getting inspired by what others have done and are doing.
The time has come for women to explore and tap on their leadership potentials.

FABAFRIQ MAGAZINE PUBLISHER AMONGST SEVEN LEADING WOMEN IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNOCA...

The UN Security Council continues to act out on its resolution 1325 which states the important role women have to play in “the prevention and resolution of conflicts, peace negotiations, peace-building, peacekeeping, humanitarian response and post-conflict reconstruction.” This was the thrust behind the recent two-day gathering in Douala, Cameroon of key female figures in the print magazine industry in the Central Africa region by the United Nations Regional Office for Central Africa (UNOCA). The women came together on the 1st and 2nd of November 2016 for a roundtable to deliberate on launching the first media platform in the sub-region for women.

The discussion focused on “women, security and conflict management”, a rather timely subject, giving the present situation in this sub region, characterised by increasing and recurrent peace and security challenges. The vital social role played by the media cannot be overemphasized in times of crisis, in keeping the population informed, hence the justification behind UNOCA’s initiative in this venture.

Seven influential media professionals from different African nations were brought together by UNOCA to propel this initiative, amongst whom was Adeline Sede, the publisher of awards winning FabAfriq Magazine representing Cameroon. It was a moment of exchange of experiences and proposing solutions for the emergence of women in the development of a professional and responsible editorial in favour of conflict prevention and peacebuilding.

The major outcome of this roundtable is the launch of the network of “Female Publishers for Peace and Security in Central Africa” (Femmes Editrices pour la Paix & la Sécurité en Afrique Centrale; FEPSAC), headed by strategic figures in the media, with the seven ladies present for the roundtable as founding members. Joining FabAfriq’s Adeline Sede were Ms. Melisa Bendome of Gabon’s “African Leading Ladies”, Ms. Nioni Masela of RDC’s “Optimum Magazine”, Ms. Peace Hillary Tumwesigire of Rwanda’s “Family Magazine”, Ms. Librada Ela Asumu of Equatorial Guinee’s EWAISO Magazine, Venicia Guinot of Congo-Brazzaville’s Tropics Magazine and Mrs. Achta Saleh from Chad. Also present to help facilitate this launch were key players from UNOCA Mr Karna Soro, Chef de la section politique, Ms Mirielle Tushiminina, Ms Ecoma Alaga and Axelle Dzikongo.

The founding members are charged with the responsibility to provide expert advice and promote conversations around topics that favour the participation of women in the media sector in equal conditions, for building and maintaining peace in Central Africa.

Introducing the #team237mag! A magazine inspired by the young generation of hard working Cameroonians who in every way are defying the odds and creating opportunities for themselves.

SIX WAYS TO HANDLE ADVERSITY, APPRECIATE IDENTITY & CELEBRATE TRIUMPH WITH MYRA MAIMOH'S UNIQ...

Myra Maimoh's sophomore album Uniq is now released and available on all major online platforms and it is quite the masterpiece for many different reasons. Very rarely does an artist try to, and succeed in accomplishing so many things in a 6 song EP.

We are taken to the very essence of who the artist is, and what her musical range and influences have been. A marked departure from her first album, Uniq tells a compelling story of power through adversity and identifying one’s voice and identity; you get the feeling Myra is singing as much to herself as she is to other people. A conviction in message carries throughout the album.

A No Go Tire’ is a musical gem that sets the stage for Myra's believe in finding a home in God and those who matter, as you go through life's adversity. This song is so beautiful that the instrumentals are just as powerful as the lyrics, no wonder she includes instrumentals as a separate track. Myra sticks to her own version of soul which lends itself to her understated vocal range and ability. She lets the song come to her. Her message of hope shines through as the Spanish guitar takes centre stage - simply sublime.

She ratcheted things up with 'On Va Danser', which is as smooth an afrobeat-rnb track as there is out there. Her Cameroonian and African roots shines through the drums and bilingual lyrics. A call to dance and make merry in appreciation of her motherland.

Feh Vitavivi’ is the track that settles you down to into your soulful place. It lets Myra's voice carry the track as she explores the idea of emerging with power in a mix of English and one of the languages of her fatherland. The musical cadence of the song and instruments transpose you into a different sphere of relaxation and inflection - a true 'listener’s' song if ever there was any.

She brings the power and energy back with the most complex song in the repertoire as we are transported by 'Beau Parleur' into a festival of drums, and percussions, and counter rhythms for which African music is so widely noted. Beau Parleur acts as a counter weight to the more extravagant promise songs of the RnB world. Her play on the empty promises, that people are usually are subjected to shows the mind and thinking of the singer philosopher, all combined in a festival for the ears and work for the feet! Breathtaking is the word that comes to mind.

Her title track, ‘Uniq’ which has a newly released video shot in Cameroon by renowned Adah Akenji, is one for the ages. A hip hop packed girl power anthem which still has some Africa infused into it. Here, we see Myra the vocalist let loose - her adlibs and octave changes are only matched in effectiveness by the sick bass drops and catchy chorus - all this while still delivering a message of uniqueness and belief to every young girl and lady who dares listen to themselves and their own abilities.  Uniq, her most cross over song delivers to a wider audience of listeners, but it still stays true to who she is in delivering a positive message!

The album rounds up with a collaboration reggae hip-hop track 'Faraway' with the sultry and sensationally lazy voice of Tboi. Once more a song sang in yet another language - pidgin, but a song that shows Myra the vocalist unafraid to share the spotlight with another powerful artist. A song of hope that makes us know wherever we are in our struggles, or successes are not that far away.

You round up the album with instrumentals by enjoying the genius and various influences of the talented and international producers who collaborated to make this album so simply, 'Uniq'.

Uniq the album, is a triumph in the S-trifecta - Sound, Song, Soul. It leaves you quite wanting more but not being unsatisfied. An album well worth its price tag and more. Two thumbs up! The album is available to buy on her website as well as on iTunes, Amazon.

Watch the video for Uniq here:

The artist shares a weekly live acapella session on her Facebook page, stay tuned for a sweet soul mix! Catch the first one here: https://www.facebook.com/MyraMaimoh/videos/1367433146600618/
