PUNCHLINE, BARS AND FREESTYLES PLUS SURPRISE FROM PRODUCER MASTERKRAFT...

Punchline is a unique show, created as a platform to enable rappers get back to the basics of rap, giving them an opportunity to be great performers!

The first edition at Dream Lounge, Buea was an event packed full with unforgettable moments!

DJ Toxic thrilled the crowd with an epic five minutes of ingenious beatboxing. Crispy held the crowd on the edge of their seats for cool six minutes, spitting bars, and even calling on fans to mime the lyrics of his critically acclaimed hit song: Small No Be Sick. It was simply magical. Guys, and even ladies were spitting Crispy’s bars.

Ngoma killed the Cypher spitting over 32 metaphorical bars, in his dialect ofcourse, but needless to say it was awesome! The crowd felt the chills. They loved his stage confidence, and even asked for a double performance of his latest come back release Ekie. You need to have seen ladies stepping to his Ekie walk.

The surprise of the night; that moment when every body went “ahhh”: one of Africa’s most successful producers, producing monster hits like…all the way from Nigeria, was there. Masterkraft on the beat!

Yes! And from the horses own mouth he was impressed about the qualityof Cameroonian music, and called on every one to play a part in making Cameroon one of Africa’s great music nations by loving our artists. He went further to call on everyone to give a standing ovation to all the artists who performed that night.

He was personally impressed by Crispy’s performance, and said we should look out for Jay Jay, who just dropped his comeback single, Feeling MaSelf.

The show was heavily attended by bigwits in the entertainment industry. The entire Industry Nite team was there to lend their support too.

Punchline indeed was an event worth remembering, bringing people all the way from Yaoundé, Douala, Bamenda, Kumba, Limbe just to name a few. Although we expected the event to be exclusively freestyles and battles, it turned out good because the performances were electrifying.

Worthy to note is the brilliant job by the emcees, Simo Jandie, later accompainied by Sparks da Virus, who doubled up as a performer and host. What an Awesome blend!

For those who couldn’t make it, here are a few pictures to whet your appetite.

GORETTI EXPERIENCE PRESENTS THE TRAILER FOR WOMAN THE MOVIE HERE...

In celebration of the Cameroon National Youth Day 2016, The Goretti Experience releases the official film trailer: Woman. Woman explores topical discussions that affect the lives of many families around the world.

The reason behind the release of the trailer on Cameroon’s Youth Day is in a bid to motivate and empower young Cameroonians. To show them a different career opportunity,” said Goretti, executive producer of Woman and founder of The Goretti Experience

Growing up, filmmaking was not evident as a career path, but with the growth of Nollywood, the passion for filmmaking was nurtured in the minds of young people and some are actively pursuing it as a career path today.”

Woman is about to make history as the first ever fully Cameroonian film to be premiered in a major cinema in the UK. On March 4th 2016 at the famous Odeon cinema in Greenwich, London. Woman makes its red carpet world premiere from 9pm GMT. What an inspiration for Cameroon’s youth of today!

The future of the Cameroonian film industry is very promising. The quality of the film content that comes out of Cameroon has and continues to compete in international film festivals. We hope that this will encourage the Cameroonian government to reopen cinema halls across the nation, hence giving today’s youth the push to pursue filmmaking as a career” said Goretti.

ME & YOU THE NEW MUSIC VIDEO/SINGLE RELEASED BY DUO RYTHMZ...

Cameroon music group Rythmz have just released the video and new single “Me & You” under XM Music owned by Cameroon’s biggest boy group X Maleya.

The song which follows last year’s hit “Dancia” also featuring the X Maleya trio is a love song which at the base talks about love lost or love found, no matter the distance, no matter the time, whether who stands for or against it, once it is real, it will always happen for the two individuals concerned.

The song is in the style of the new genre of music propagated by the band themselves called ‘Afrobikossa” which is a mixture of Afropop, Makossa & Bikutsi.

Rythmz is a duo made up of Dianee also known as Phill Bill Beatz & Kezzy also known as K Master K their pseudonyms for their production, mixing & mastering talents.

Enjoy the music video directed by Dr Nkeng Stephens…it feels so great to see artists evolve and this duo definitely merit applause!

Written and Produced by Goretti Etchu-Egbe, “Woman” stars Epule Jeffrey (Decoded, Blood & Wine) Goretti (Before the Sunrise, Turntable) Ruth Nkweti (A little lie, a little kill), Charlotte Gobina (Rumble) and Joe-Richard Pook (Charlotte Dipanda ‘Coucou).

Woman is a story of love, lust and betrayal.

Manga (Joe-Richard pook) a pediatrician, and Angoh, (Goretti) a marketing executuve living the happy hustle and bustle life of every typical married couple. They have two children and all seems to be going well until Rachel (Gobina Charlotte) a pharmacist and highly confident, driven, serial dater steps into the picture. She only dates married men and her reasons are as compelling as the web into which Manga is drawn. On the other side, Manga’s best friend, Leke (Epule Jeffrey) and his very-long-term girlfriend, Mbolle (Ruth Nkweti), battle the issue of Leke’s reluctance to solidify their commitment with a marriage proposal.

The dynamics of these two relationships sets the tone for ‘Woman’ as a thought provoking and in-your-face film that will leave audiences either resolved or riled up.
