SOUL SEDUCTION ON PARADISE ISLAND!

When Jean-Yves Mbome returned to Cameroon, he promised us one thing and that was to bring us exquisite events that had panache, a great setting, beautifully clad partygoers and great music.

The founder of Love Jones, an events management company that started out here in London has sure not disappointed in any way! From his very first event to this event in Kribi a few weeks ago, it is certain that quality and satisfaction are at the forefront of Jean-Yves' work ethic.

So a few weeks ago on the shores of Hotel le Phare on Paradise Island in Kribi, his guest artist the Guadaloupean zouk songstress Jocelyne Labille serenaded his party goers under the moonlight and flashlights.

The overall decor was inviting and relaxed, the champagne was flowing and Tito Valery, the host of the night did his thang!

Overall, it was a well organised event with satisfaction, relaxation and enjoyment at the forefront! Check out the images below..for yourself!

How gorgeous is this girl?

The current Miss Africa USA and the first Cameroonian girl to be one was spotted lending her support last weekend at the event "Strut for the Horn" organised by the African Student Organisation at the American University in aid of her fight against hunger in Somalia.

She was wearing the Adaka skirt by Couture Afrique.

She's fab, inside and out!

EMINEM IN CAMEROON: FACT OR FICTION?

There are rumours circulating around that Eminem is due for a concert next week in Yaounde. According to this website, Eminem alongside international stars such as Chris Brown, Jermaine Dupri, Eve, 50 Cent to name a few are due on stage on the 28th of April at Stade Omnisports.

This is hard to believe as bringing all the above named stars to Cameroon is very ambitious considering the hefty cost that is involved in bringing along each act; remembering the artists' pay cheques, their entourage/security and their musical equipment.

Nevertheless, it is not totally impossible as Cameroon has been booming this year with international acts collaborating with big brands. Only last month, Akon was in concert in Douala. A collaboration between Smirnoff Cameroon and the star and next month, MTN's bringing us the duo Psquare for their MTN African Music Nite.

Should World Dream prove us wrong we will all see on the day which is fast approaching!

*UPDATE: The scheduled date of April 28th came and went, there was no show and certainly no Eminem and crew. The organisers sure got us talking about it. If we did not know any better, we would've concluded this to be a great PR ploy...or was it?

DORIS NGANDJOU KOUYEM WINS THE HUMANITECH PRIZE!

It's so refreshing to see that Cameroonian women are not laying low in their passions. Only recently, Dorothée an IT passionista and reporter won the African FOSS Reporter Award 2012 in Abuja.

News out is that Doris Ngandjou Kouyem, a student at the ESSEC in Douala has just won the Humanitech challenge organised by "Casques Rouges" in France.

Though she was refused a visa by the French autorities to attend this competition and thanks to video conferencing, Doris was able to compete in the "Sanitaire & Social" category where she won the 5,000 Euros prize money with her invention, the "Tsé-Nou" filter which help combat water borne diseases such as Cholera and Dysentery.

We are very excited and pleased for Doris and hopes she is an inspiration to many. Let nothing hinder you to get to your dream is the moral to this story!

RIP PAPA NOEL EKWABI

It is another very sad day for Cameroon as we lose yet again another great contributor to our music.

Noel Ekwabi also known as Papa Noel (Santa Claus), considered one of the best bassists in the world has left us today.

Displaying an early affinity for all types of music, this Cameroonian-born and Paris-based artist began as a child by teaching himself to play drums, percussions and the guitar.

A truly gifted musician and captivating performer, Noel was constantly offering his musical skills to renowned artists and has worked with many famous ones including Manu Dibango and Lokua Kanza.

Noel left behind an impressive recording and performance catalog which is noteworthy for its caliber and its diversity.

He was also the vice president of ArkJammers Connection Inc, a non-profit organisation gathering artists and music lovers from different cultures and from all walks of life, who are dedicated to spreading kindness and fostering intercultural dialogue through the unifying power of music.

You will sure be missed Papa Noel. One of your fans summed it nicely "Petit Papa Noel, comme tu vas au ciel avec tes notes par milliers, n'oublie pas notre harmonie" Don't forget our love!

Thank you for the music, we will miss you.

PSQUARE IN CAMEROON!

Nigeria's big music duo Peter and Paul Okoye are storming Cameroon for a May concert put together by Cameroon's hip network provider MTN.

The concert entitled MTN African Music Nite 2012 will take place in Yaoundé on the 18th of May and in Douala on 20th May hyping the celebrations all around the country during this renowned date.

It's really interesting to see big brands in Cameroon associating themselves with the entertainment industry. Some things are sure changing!

First there was the collaboration between Smirnoff Cameroon and Akon back in March and there is a rumour of Eminem coming to Cameroon. We wonder which brand will be responsible for that partnership?

Boy oh boy...who is next on the list? Rihanna? Chris Brown? Lady Gaga or Beyoncé?!

We hope y'all have fun!

Great twist on an old classic tune!
