A veritable Camer Lion, our international star Manu Dibango who is holding a 3 day concert at the Musée du Quai de Branly in Paris in celebration of his 80th birthday today had the chance to meet the French President François Hollande who apparently turned up to watch him perform.

The photos posted by the Présidence de la République Française; the official page of the presidency on Facebook shows both of them in a warm convivial pose. Check them below.

DULCE PROUD MOMENT > BLACK COMMANDO > STANLEY ENOW + FUSE ODG + OLAMIDE

The Hour Black has finally come upon us where the joint collabo between MTV Base Africa and Guinness finally came to an end with the big reveal, the world preview on MTV Base, Canal 2 International and STV of the Black Commando video featuring our very own starboy himself Stanley Enow, Ghana's Fuse ODG and Nigeria's Olamide.

Held together by MTV hosts Ehiz and Vanessa Mdee in South Africa, the #MadeOfBlack party house was booming with live music peformances from the 3 acts as well as interviews with the Made Of Black ambassadors which also included Miss Cameroon 2013 Valerie Ayena and Phyno. The public was also involved with live postings of their Made Of Black declarations and their selfies.

The #MadeOfBlack campaign was all about positivity, believe, determination, motivation and success and they rightly chose the right music artists to front this great campaign. Below is a few backstage shots of the video making which was directed by renowned director Clarence Peters.

And here is the video...but first we want to thank Stanley Enow for flying the Green Red Yellow flag higher and higher. Enjoy!

DULCE INITIATIVE > BETTER BREED CREATE BETTER THINKERS WITH BETTER MINDS BOOK DRIVE...

Better Breed Cameroon; a youth-led youth development and empowerment organisation based in Buea has launched a book drive entitled Better Minds Book Drive.

The project which was launched on the 15th of October 2014 and will run to the 10th of January 2015 aims to instill in future citizens and leaders in Cameroon the habit of reading. Having noticed that a large number of schools lack libraries enabling children access to literature other than school text, the association is calling for donations of used children books to set up Better Breed Corners (mini libraries) in particularly needy schools spanning across Class One in primary school to Advance Levels in high school.

In this pioneer project, Better Breed Cameroon hopes to raise at least 500 books to set up a library in at least one needy school in one of four regions as a start.

Better Breed Cameroon whose motto is “Breeding the change we need” aims at sustainable development by reforming the youth to become more conscious citizens and leaders in the future.

To donate contact Better Breed Cameroon via email and a member of the organisation will contact you depending on which region you are based in Cameroon. Members of the Diaspora interested in donating too are also welcome to contact via betterbreed@gmail.com or on their Facebook Page ---> https://www.facebook.com/BetterBreedCameroon

Please lend a hand if you can.

DULCE NEW VIDEO > POISSON FUME > LADY PONCE

Where can we start with this new one from the Ponce?! Like since the Ca La video where Lady Ponce showed us why she is rightly and should be crowned the queen of Bikutsi and ofcourse today we see again why as the Ponce gave all her fans worldwide a great gift this evening when she released "Poisson Fumé" (Dried Fish) the video to a single off her 6th album entitled "Bain de Son."

Lady Ponce in her songs has never been shy to pass on to her audience some life's wisdom gotten from her mother and grandmother as well as learnt through her own life experiences. Poisson Fumé - 'dried fish' in English; is a personification of men in general. It serves as a warning to women to love their men as they are for what they are because if they try to change them they will only just break into pieces just like dried fish!! Est-ce que elle ment?! LOL!!

The humoristic track even goes as far as to also warn women never to leave one African man for another because they are all similar just like a poisson fumé! So "il faut supporter son défaut" because they are "impossible de redresser, difficile a changer"

So girls be warned already!! Watch the delightful scenic video shot it seems on the North side of Cameroon by renowned NS Pictures below and see how royal Lady Ponce looks...enjoy!

DULCE NEW VIDEO > NJAMA NJAMA COW > STANLEY ENOW

Out Of The Box Creation By Stanley Enow Fan @ayoubson

Amidst the controversy surrounding this video and whether we like it or not, Samsung & Guinness Made of Black ambassador, MTV MAMA Best New Act 2014 & AFRIMMA Best Newcomer 2014 winner Stanley Enow is shinning the green red yellow flag brightly and for that we at DC must remain proud that he dared to dream outside of the box to give our country some recognition.

The eyes are on him heavily now than ever before, people are ready to see what he can or can’t do and yet he forges on head high and dreams wide. Here is the new video to his third single Njama Njama Cow taken from his yet to be released album Soldier Like My Papa.

The video is not flashyStanley Enow stated “but rather we had a visual upgrade wanting to tell our story through visual codes. This video is for the eyes that sees and the mind that understands.” He also added.

Are you ready to see and understand dear DC readers? Watch it below...

THE LADY PONCE IS BACK AGAIN!

Lady Ponce has been steadily making her comeback onto the Bikutsi scene and she is looking every inch a star with a more slender figure, the weaves have gone and are replaced with a new low cut afro look which she carries beautifully.

Ready for the release of her new album "Bain de Son", the Ponce as we call her is seen giving her fans a well deserved entertainment during a stage performance in Chartres, a commune in the South-West of Paris. A few images below...

It looks like she had a blast and the concert goers too had a blast! How do you like the new look Lady Ponce? Yah or Nah?

DULCE CAMPAIGN: VOTE FOR JOANNES IF YOU BELIEVE IN EDUCATION FOR ALL...

Today, over 58 million children are out of school 31 million of which are girls and half of this number are girls in Sub Sahara alone. In Cameroon, there are over 280,000 children out of school most of which yet again are girls.
In 2000, world leaders made a commitment at the United Nations to ensure every child was in school and learning by the year 2015 but we are not very far off the year and this commitment is unlikely to be achieved.
Joannes Paulus Yimbesalu through his NGO - Hope For Children Cameroon is an education campaigner who aims to make a difference by giving a voice to the voiceless children who roam the streets or stay at home because they cannot afford an education.

His application has been approved to become a speaker at one of the biggest technology conference in Dublin named "Web Summit 2014" but all he needs is YOUR VOTES

So click, scroll down and vote to give him the opportunity to make these children's voices heard.

We have voted, will you? Spread the link!

HOW TO SAVE ON KEROSENE AND CANDLES? SAY HELLO TO SOLAR LAMPS & MOBILE PHONE CHARGERS!

Back in late July, we were contacted by a Camer entrepreneur based in Oslo, Norway named Ateh Atabong who asked if we would be interested in reviewing their new solar lamps designed for students and families in Cameroon and to be sold by his company Pharmerci Ltd. A few months later and yup ofcourse we agreed to it and here we are proud owners of Sunbell solar lamp an award winning product designed in Norway with 3 international awards for design and practicality already won.

These lamps are quite practical, providing a solution to the acute power shortage problem in both on grid and off grid areas of Cameroon by providing a renewable source of energy. For the city dweller, it can be used to save money on utility/electricity bills and for those who constanly travel to rural areas and villages, the Sunbell is a product worth having and worth extending to other family relatives and friends.

The lamps can potentially offer an increase in the economic condition of small business owners such as call box operators and other SMEs by providing a cheaper and more sustainable energy necessary to operate at night time topped with the added benefit of providing their customers as well as themselves the possibility of recharging their mobile phones sur place! Yes!

The lamp is beautifully visual, made entirely of plastic and in different bright colours too. The lightbulb has a 7 year span while the battery itself 5 years lasting all through the lamp's lifetime. The lamps will all carry a 1 year warranty with a 'how to use the product' training provided by Pharmerci Ltd to ensure they are used correctly. If you however buy a defected lamp, a replacement will be provided. Cool customer care right?! The company also aim to train a few selected electricians across the country who will be responsible for repair and parts replacements.

The solar lamp is very functional, it is so light (weighs 100 grams) that even a one year old toddler can pick it up but don't fret it will not burn! It can be used as a bedside lamp, a torch light to see those hard to see areas, it can be hung up, put down or wrapped around the neck for when you need to use your hands to work.

The solar lamps also tick the health box...did you know that burning kerosene lamps indoors is equivalent to smoking 2 packs of cigarettes a day according to the UN? Health is wealth and for a one time payment of about 30,000 FCFA a family home could be safe, economically better and also environmentally clean through the use of solar lamps.

For the student market, a more flexible design dubbed the Sun Turtle is available with an even affordable pricing.

Overall, this is a product which we would recommend time and time again!

Here are some images below of how we enjoyed our solar lamp...from unravelling the simple packaging to how we charged our lamp and how we used it! Don't be jealous now ;)

Here are some other ways to use your lamp...
