SAINT VALENTINE'S DAY SPECIAL: MICHAEL KIESSOU, STANLEY ENOW, NUMERICA, DIANE AUDREY NGAKO & MANY OTHERS EXPRESS THEIR LOVE...

Here we are today the 14th of February in the year 2015. As we all know today has been sold and commercialised as the day of love across the world but…yes…but here on DC we want to express a different kind of love. A love which is not particularly for another human being but for something equally special and engraved in our DNA by using a few individuals selling the face of Cameroon in their own unique but exceptional way. We asked them to show us their love for Cameroon in 5 reasons, read on…

Michael Kiessou - Music Artist

Diane Audrey – Visiter l’Afrique Founder

Mon quartier préféré est New - Bell.

Stanley Enow - Music Artist
I love Cameroon because of:-

-Its diversity.

-Its temperate climate.

-Its music.

-Its Peace.

-Its high rate of belief in the Lord Almighty.

Vanessa – Creative & Moving Editor
-It's where I come from. I am a proud Bassa'a woman and I cherish my cultural and national heritages.

- I heard some people say Cameroonians are cowards, but I think we are a peaceful nation. We try by all means to eradicate conflict and that's one thing I love about my country.

- As a tourism professional, the diversity of our natural, cultural and human resources just leave me breathless.

- Our drive and creativity: When I see what Cameroonians have achieved over the years, I just can't help but be proud.

- I love Cameroon and Cameroonians because of our unity. We have our differences but when it's time to come together as one, we do it beautifully and move mountains.

Stive – Youth Inside, Equinoxe TV Producer

- Talent: Cameroonians are very talented in different fields. We have had Cameroonians at the top for example Eto’o for sports and Manu Dibango for music.

- Originality: with Cameroon being so culturally diverse, with over 200 tribes, there is a lot we can portray in terms of originality and culture.

- Peace: we are very calm and peaceful people. Cameroonians may say crazy things or act strangely but we are not belligerent. We do not engage in destructive fights unless it is with Boko Haram.

- Solidarity: when it comes to solidarity, Cameroonians do a pretty good job. We may be hard on our brothers but God forbid an outsider disrespects one of us. You will see solidarity like none other.

-Diversity: Cameroon is very diverse: one of the most diverse cultural backgrounds in Africa.

Aboki Breeze – Abokination Label Owner/Blogger
-Culture: It’s such a huge word because it embodies everything. The lifestyle in particular is such a breath of fresh air. Cameroon’s culture made me what I am today – the belief in the importance of the basic things in life.

-The “Chilled Nature” of the people: Even though this sometimes transcends into laziness. I like the fact that we couldn’t be worried about a lot of things reason why the country is still war free (internally though). If chop and Mimbo dey, all tin dey chak…

-Style: Cameroonians tend to be very stylish. I mean even the contry sep sep stylish. Like ha manage pays get all tin way Africa get am? It leads me to the conclusion that we were created in style.

-Talent: The amount of talent that oozes from Cameroon is mind-blowing. I know the talents aren’t well exposed or developed but just the fact that there is so much coming from one country is enough reason to win any heart.

-Food: mehhnnn chop, mang, Damé… call it whatever you like but I cannot talk about Cameroon without mentioning food. Aseeh…you don try sleeping ekwang for Sunday sharp? *licks lips* #InoSendYouForBush. Home is home and there is no home without food. This may be the last but definitely the top reason why I love Cameroon.

Numerica – Music Artist
-I love the food of my country with a special love for Eru.

-The women of Cameroon are very beautiful!

-I like the lifestyle and the ambiance we have in Cameroon.

-I love the culture... people from different villages with different cultures and beliefs. A certain diversity.

-I love the climate (with the exception of Douala's)

Chouchou Mpacko – Social Influencer

Ciana – Music Artist
-Our bilingualism: Cameroon is blest with 2 official languages namely French and English as well as over many languages spoken in the different regions/villages of Cameroon.

-Peace: we are a very peaceful country and group of people hence why you will not hear of any war or uprising.

-Climate: we have the best climate and the best thing is that you can get different climates in the different regions/cities.

-Style: Cameroonians are known for the love of style and dressing up. So take note of that next Cameroonian you may see *wink*

-Food: a variety of delicious foods in Cameroon makes it impossible to have a diet. You can potentially eat different meals each day for a whole month and beyond sef lol!!

Mustapha - Editor at Kurbain

-Peace Work fatherland is our motto. So we are in love with this beautiful country because of the peace and calmness we have. People from different religions, tribes, and with different languages manage to co-exist despite their differences.

-It is a land of promise and a land of glory, reason why we strongly believe the next big thing in Africa will definitely be from Cameroon. The country is blessed with too many talented individuals!

-It is a land of plenty, yes we are a group of diverse people, in terms of everything…especially food! There is enough food in Cameroon and Cameroon may have 99 problems but food definitely ain’t one! Lol!

-We love our beautiful country Cameroon because of the richness in culture. We are blessed to be called Cameroonians because you can see a little bit of all African countries in Cameroon. Reason why the country is known as Africa in miniature!

- Last but not the least, we love Cameroon because of its people, who are hardworking! We especially love the hustle of the youths. The youths are working really hard! A couple of them have been featured on Forbes lists recently with innovations to help both Africa and the world.

#ProudlyCamer! God bless Cameroon!

So there you have it…our special kind of love post this Valentine’s Day. Happy Vals Day to you all. Love and be loved but remember to do so all days of the year!!

WHAT DOES A CAMEROONIAN, A NIGERIAN AND AN ENGLISH HAVE IN COMMON? A PURPLE DRESS OFCOURSE!!

What does a Cameroonian rapper and a Nigerian stylist/blogger and boutique owner have in common? Well how about this purple egg maxi dress from rebranded English mixte brand AqAq!!

Douala based young rapper Ciana is spotted in this loose-fit maxi dress with panelled detail and side zip fastening during her outdoor photo shoot in Bonamoussadi. Her dress styled by ModeMaison PR had an African theme complete with ankara headwrap and a Kenyan Maasai necklace.

Ezinne Chinkata, stylist to Nigerian stars such as Omotola Jalade Ekeinde recently posted her own take on the dress on her website and it was simple and understated but equally very beautiful.

Whether you style the dress up or style it down, this maxi dress is grand enough to hold its own all it needs is a gorgeous body to fit in! Below is how the AqAq model was styled.
