MADE OF BLACK ENTRY > BLACK COMMANDO > FUSE ODG FT ZEMIE

The Guinness Made of Black campaign is still running with a proposal giving all budding music artists the chance to contribute and show what they are made of by providing their own verse to the "Black Commando" track by London based Ghanaian act Fuse ODG.

The ask from Guinness is to record and upload  your own version to the track from which Fuse will pick a favourite weekly. The overall winner from the contest will have their verse feature on the final song, they will appear on the video or win an MTV Base house party for them and their friends.

Budding artist Zemie has done just that! She has written her verse, recorded it and below is what it sounds like...enjoy!

Fresh from her AFRIMMA win in Maryland just 2 months ago, fresh from her return from her stint in the US and also fresh from a nod from the Music Maker segment on the Voice of America TV show, GASHA is back with yet again another fresh, sweet, cool melody dubbed "The Date" which narrates her story of her love of the boy next door called Nate who has for a while been blowing her mind! Also in featuring is a Mos Def lookalikey rapper named Zegeman who brings in a summery raggae twist to the song.

This is what VILLE had to say ‘I love doing music for everybody.’ This release comes a few weeks after fresh choreography visuals for OLOPYTO was released.

X Maleya, the 3 piece most famous boy group in Cameroon have tonight shown the extent of their popularity by bringing down the house at the famous Olympia venue in Paris.

Since being signed to Empire group under the patronage of Pit Baccadi, the band has witnessed a surge in their popularity which has enabled them onto a better platform including widening their entourage and networks which has come to include the great 9 himself; Samuel Eto'o Fils.

The social media reviews from the show have been nothing short of being great and satisfying with the Cameroon community coming out in full force to show their support to the group. This also included the very big names such as Manu Dibango, Grace Decca, Mani Bella, Lady Ponce and Charlotte Dipanda...a few fan images below which all seem to give the impression of a great show. Kudos to the group and their team for the bright light they have shone on Cameroon...enjoy!!

STANLEY ENOW & VALERIE AYENA ARE MADE OF BLACK, AND YOU?!

If you did not yet know, Guinness have launched a campaign initiative which celebrates positivity and self motivation. The campaign is dubbed #MadeOfBlack and it is one that views Black not as a colour but rather a positive attitude and game changer that is capable of realising its full potential.

In Cameroon, the campaign initiative is lead by urban rapper Stanley Enow together with Miss Cameroun 2013 Valerie Ayena. They recently released a spot to the campaign and were also live on the eclectic Jambo show on Canal 2 this afternoon to further shed some light on the campaign.

Catch a bit of the Stanley Enow whirlwind story to his success in such a short space of time on his spot below as well as see what it takes to be a Miss Cameroun as shown by Valerie Ayena...it just may help to dream a lil!!

On the heels of the sweet-sounding R&B tunes of "Ebangha" and "Diana", Steve’Slil continues to prove his originality, proficiency and creativity as he unspools a 100% ‘Camer-embellished’ festive tune titled "I Cut You Café". 

This colloquial Cameroonian expression is used to show respect or commend someone for an attribute or achievement. It is a mimic of military salutation which is equally fused in the dance moves of the tune. 

‘I Cut You Café’ is an up-tempo Afro-pop concoction with a makossa bass line, drum and guitar pattern. This sultry R&B/pop delivery gets you in a shindig mood. Steve'slil states "I got the inspiration listening to makossa and I also used excerpts from Rrhumta’s most famous hit 'Bambambe' which immortalised my childhood." 

The song was produced by Slimbeatz of Best Music Inc. The video was directed by Didi Blaise.
