THE DOUALA BBCL MEET UP EVENT IN PICTURES...

The rebranded Camer Divas under the banner of BBCL (Bold & Beautiful Camer Ladies) planned and held their first meet up event last December in Douala, we reported it here.

The meet up was not only aimed at fostering networking relationships between young professionals, entrepreneurs, bloggers, media and entertainment personalities and corporate sponsors, but also initiated a unique strategy not typically seen in networking events in Cameroon, by providing an educational and informative overview on the importance of social media to bloggers and entrepreneurs, the successful impact of social media to entrepreneurs in enhancing a business and the importance of a collaboration between bloggers, entrepreneurs and businesses.

The event also provided an opportunity for fashionistas to shop as well as a mini fashion show by Liiber London and Mareta West. Music was provided by Wax Dey and Daphne. Images below...

KOSSA MOI ÇA VIDEO BY NUMERICA FT BANA C4 IS FINALLY OUT. WATCH IT HERE!

Following a few weeks long online promo on the anticipated Kossa Moi Ça video by Numerica ft the quintet group Bana C4 which has included the release of the video dance moves which we posted here, the 3 finger by the lip playful challenge supported by Numerica's girlfriend Fese of Eloli designs, France based artist Singuila, ModeMaison PR boss Cynthia Tabe, Systeme Tchakap founder and West Ham player Alex Song as well as Numerica himself with his label manager Walter Eboumbou and the release of limited edition KOSSA collection which includes caps, tee shirts and sweatshirts...the video is now finally ready for a public release today with a preview first on Tchop Tchop's popular Jambo TV show on Canal 2.

For us who could not catch on Jambo directly, the video is now online. Kossa Moi Ça is a rythmic dancey song which invites you to bust your moves and to kossa kossa!! Enjoy it below.

IS CAMEROONIAN D3 DANCER BRENDA DERY FRONTING AN IMAN COSMETICS CAMPAIGN?

A few days ago, D3 Dancers front woman Brenda Dery - real name Brenda Mengot posted the below image with the caption and hashtag "Iman Cosmetics 2015 campaign #Dery4Iman."

This posting suggests the dancer has been picked to front the brand's campain this year. Iman Cosmetics founded by Somalian supermodel Iman Abdulmajid creates beauty/makeup products for black skin.

The sought after dancer who is a well known face in the African music scene in London and who has worked with many top music acts including Iyanya is currently in Cameroon we believe on holiday.

EX INDOMITABLE LIONS ESSA PIUS GIVES FREE MEDICAL EXAMINATION TO THE LIONESSES

International Community Reference Health Care Complex

It takes an athlete to recognise another athlete's needs and this is just what former national team player Essa Pius has done. Call it a charitable gesture or plainly a kind heart, Essa Pius is using his new project - a hospital facility in New Lay Out Molyko, Buea popularly known as the International Community Hospital to give back to the community. 

He provided free medical examination to the Cameroon women's football team popularly known as the Lionesses. According to the ex player, football exposed him to the world and this gesture is his way to give back to his country. 

Lioness captain Onguene appreciated the kind gesture stating that medical examinations are important for athletes during training and international competitions.

YOUNG CAMEROON FOUNDER HANGS OUT WITH BILLIONAIRE ALIKO DANGOTE

It is said you are known by your associations and so is true for the young founder Alain Nteff of award winning initiative GiftedMom which aims to contribute to pre and post natal care in Cameroon using mobile technology to improve maternal and infant health.

The young founder who is also coincidentally celebrating his 23rd birthday today January 23rd is currently hanging out with top guns; leaders and CEOs of the World's Top 1000 companies as well as the renowned Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote at the 2015 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland making him one of the youngest to attend earning him a featuring on the online Huffington Post site.

With so many youths crying out about the lack of jobs and opportunities, it is very refreshing to see such a young visionaire showing that anything is within your reach if you only try. We hope this serves as an inspiration to others.

DOUALA MAYOR MME FRANÇOISE FONING IS NO MORE...

The ruling party - Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM)  and the Douala and Cameroon population at large are today mourning the passing of a strong figure head - the mayoress of Douala 5th Mme Françoise Foning.

The mayoress apparently was involved in a ghastly car accident on the Douala Yaoundé road last weekend and was taken to a hospital in Yaoundé where she succumbed to her injuries while waiting for a plane full of medication to reach Yaoundé.

What a sad news for what seemed like a true lioness. May she RIP.

TALLA ANDRE MARIE & SAM FAN THOMAS IN CONCERT AT PARIS OLYMPIA

Nostalgia is creeping in as we write this post because Andre Marie Talla & Sam Fan Thomas both represent a very nostalgic part of most people's childhood. Back in the 80s these were the typical sounds heard blaring at house parties, radios, bars and as we reminisce on these melodic sounds we are also ecstatic to hear that just like the X-Maleya trio, these 2 will be up on the podium of Paris Olympia venue in concert in May!

The concert ticket prices seem affordable presenting an opportunity for many of us to go support our fathers and keep our music scene alive. In preparation for the concert, Talla Andre Marie was in Paris checking out the venue. Images as below...
