INTRODUCING KIFLEX STRAIGHT OUTTA BAMBUI...

Born in Cameroon in a small village called Bambui in the North West Region, Fulie Kilian Afuso, who is currently studying nursing in the United States, leapt into the world music world sphere 3 years ago with his stage name Kiflex.

He started out as an instrumentalist in a live band called THE ISLAND SENSATION based in Detroit, and from then, he fell in love with music. Being in the buttonhole of so many great artists, it became a huge motivation for him to start writing and producing his own music by using his own language and jest in transmitting his love punchlines.

He was connected with the producer, BO Boy and who fell in love with his style of music and started producing for him. Since then, he became more connected and his love for music kept growing. Kiflex cites Magasco, Jovi, Mic Monsta, Ewube, Tzy Panchako, Yong Flo, Charlotte Dipanda, Missy Bk, Vumomse as his music heroes. He is currently working on his first album titled BADDEST QUEEN which will be made up of 7 tracks to be released later this May, produced by BO Boy and Master Roboster.

NEW ARTIST ALE MYZ BURNS ALL HER ENEMIES WITH FIRE...

Meet ALE MYZ, a US-based Mamfe born and Limbe raised Cameroonian Afro-pop, Soul/RnB Singer and Songwriter. Her debut song “FIRE” is an inspirational song written and composed by herself. It is an afro-pop song written in both English and Pidgin English, which serves to entertain, uplift and inpsire some soul searching. The song is drawn from a personal perspective and also from experiences by friends and family.

The beat was produced by EC Neeba and enhanced by Tam Gaelo, who also recorded, mixed and mastered the song. “As soon as I heard the beat, I knew I could do something unique with it” states Ale Myz

The lyrics are very clear and simple, which eases listening and understanding. Ale Myz also uses a lot of rhyming to make the song pleasant in the ears with a message that is equally straightforward.

Ale Myz says she believes people will love and relate to the song because we all have a common enemy, Satan who seeks our downfall always, and then his agents on earth who are people we see everyday. They smile in front of you and then go behind and visit shrines or hold meetings at night to tie one’s progress or even to kill.

“Fire” was premiered at the concert of legendary Cameroonian artist Petit Pays held in Dallas on Sat Nov 21st 2015 in which Ale Myz performed alongside other upcoming Cameroonian artists.  A video release is scheduled for January.

DAPHNE SHOWS US SOME GANGSTA BEHAVIOUR IN NEW VIDEO ENTITLED GUNSHOT...CHECK IT OUT!

The girl from one of 2014's best songs Rastafari is back and in case you didn't know her name - she goes by the name of Daphne a vocally and physically gifted rising artist.

With her new song entitled Gunshot which is a war themed song, Daphne looks at the struggle that artists face at the forefront of their job which makes them easy targets for nasty and not so nasty comments. The song was also inspired by the current state of the Cameroon music industry - the negativity all around making the song a mediating platform urging all parties involved to get along and build something lasting without taking gunshots. Daphne states "I truly believe we have a once in a lifetime opportunity to make history with our music. I enjoyed recording this song and more so doing the video."

On the surface, the song also encapsulates and speaks to the growing violence that is going on across Africa and in the North of Cameroon. Watch the video below...

One thing which we would like to pass on to team Stevens is to please take her overall image a bit more seriously! Her make-up needs to be better applied even though she seems to have been sweating quite a bit under that heat which may have made her make-up run (get a fan on set perhaps?). Her hairstyle needs to be updated, we have seen that shaved side and twist look all last year *sad face* and lastly, take risks on her choice of clothes to make her extraordinary. We would like Daphne to make us and the rest of the girls in Cameroon to dream a bit...no gunshots please we are merely suggesting hiihii *kissou kissou*

And on that note from us, like the video, share it!

CAMEROON MUSIC ARTIST ZINNIA SIGNS RECORD DEAL WITH MC GALAXY'S MCG ENTERTAINMENT!

Mbanga wey e get for ripe, must ripe not so? Well that is exactly what is happening slowly in the Cameroon music milieu. We have begun to witness major record deal signings, brand endorsements, paid concert participations, digital distribution partnerships with major labels...and we are not even fully grown yet!

Tuesday night, South Africa based former Mutzig winner and one time Brightphase and BAAM member Zinnia Bemo known under her stage name of Zinnia released images and a short message on Instagram confirming her partnership with a record label in Nigeria. She had hinted to us last week about her news which she was about to release and we had a few minutes catch up...read it below.

DC: How were you scouted or approached?
Zinnia: I met with MC Galaxy by accident in a studio in Nigeria. I was there doing my shoot and so was he recording some tracks. While he was recording, I was busy humming to his beat and he asked me to help him out with the backing tracks. I gladly did and also carried on with my shoot and then I left. Two months later, I received a call from him wanting to know if I was in Nigeria to help him out again. As I was available, I went and ended up doing 3 songs for his debut album.

DC: How did you feel during the negotiations?
Zinnia: I was called up by his management Big Jamz World and we had a meeting on the phone which went pretty well. When they sent me the contract, I could not believe it!

DC: When you signed on the dotted lines, what were you feeling?
Zinnia: I was overwhelmed...I felt amazing because I knew I had worked hard for this opportunity.

DC: So what does this mean for you as an artist?
Zinnia: This means work. This means dedication and determination. This means no turning back. This means prove a point. This means make your nation proud.

DC: What next?
Zinnia: Working on my first official single under the label and my introductory performance with my label mate Muno this weekend in Nigeria at the MC Galaxy album launch in Uyo where I will also share the stage with Cynthia Morgan, Skales, Praiz etc and then another launch in Lagos.

Zinnia becomes the first official female and only foreigner on the label owned by the "Sekem" crooner MC Galaxy. Let's stay tuned for more!
