Blu Nation Recordings
releases the official video for ‘Makaveli’ a catchy afro pop song by fast rising Cameroonian artist
Tzy Panchak. Makaveli is Tzy's first single since signing under Blu Nation.
In this song, you can
testify to Tzy’s vocal strength and dexterity. Tzy sings in Pidgin, English and
French laying his smooth voice on the beats produced by Slimbeats with a video
directed by award winning video director Dr. Nkeng Stephens.
Calabash Music releases the visuals for ‘Faux Weh’, a
song by their newly signed hip hop artist Stanis. The video is an introduction
of the creative capacity that the rapper possesses. Stanis sings in English,
French and Pidgin, revealing the affinity that people have for the 'easy way
out' (Faux Weh) in our communities. In a light, lyrical - almost playful -
tone, he exposes several vices that have unfortunately become the norm in our society
today. And he does so on a bouncy afro trap beat produced by label mate; DJ K+
On the video, director Dr. Nkeng Stephens infuses a
creative twist that further brings Stanis' storytelling to life. It portrays
the artist playing various vicious roles whilst also seeking redemption from
his bad ways. So what kicks off as a personification of the glorification of
vice, ends up becoming a call to action for us to become more virtuous people.
In a musical scene already pervaded by perversity, Stanis is subliminally
carving a new niche through satire. Click below to watch, be thrilled and
redeemed.
The Fap Kolo crooner Salatiel of Alpha Better Records hascome
again with another melodious something for our ears. This one titled ''Ça Se
Passe Ici" is bound to generate a nostalgic feeling in the hearts of all
the 70s, 80s and 90s babies since it is a mix of some of the greatest Cameroonian
old school hits and we believe this should be adopted as the tune to front the
National Day celebrations across Cameroon and the Diaspora today. Why you ask?
Here are our reasons:-
Salatiel successfully produced a song
which integrates old hit tunes from Bebe Manga, Sam Fan Thomas, Tom Yoms, Ndedi
Eyango, Petit Pays, Douleur, Zangalewa, Manu Dibango and new school hits like
"Ça Sort Comme Ça Sort", "Coller La Petite" and
"BahBah" into an uptempo afro-pop beat for this generation.
The song pushes high on the theme of integration,
living together as one and in harmony, bringing together and celebrating our
diversity which is a number one focus especially for a National day
celebration.
The song pays tribute to some of our
old school heroes and also celebrates music and TV personalities of this
generation. What better way to celebrateour
National day than to remember those who were before as well those who are there
now.
The song promotes Cameroon as the centre
of production for the best melodies in Africa. Please someone give this dude
the best champagne in the house!!
We also have the best women in the
world and if you didn’t know it then let Salatiel tell you. In every nation,
the backbone is its women and therefore for this National day, let us give a
big cheer to all the women of Cameroon for their struggles, their daily challenges
but let us also cheer their resilience, their hard work, their support, their
love and their dedication within their families and within the country as a whole.
Video director Nkeng Stephens has
slowly but surely come of age with his editing and directing skills. He did justice
to the tune with great visuals and a contagious choreography by the 21C Dance Crew. We can also coller and enjailler this day so watch it below and enjoy!
Steven’s Music
Entertainment (SME) announces the release of Daphne’s brand new video
for “Allez”, the latest single from her Album “Here To Stay”.
The song/ video features
“Les Featurists” who added a balanced touch to the story of the song. A hidden
gem on the album, the song quickly took over radio airwaves when Brice Albin of
“Le Metro Du Soire 2.0” started playing it daily. On this track Daphne and the
boys (Les Featurists) go back and forth on verses about how they want to be
loved: ”when I come to your area…give me the fire”….”when I see you, baby let
me love…I no get me bad belleh”.
The Video features dancers showcasing their “bend
skin” dance moves as well as two “clowns” vying for the love of a beautiful
young girl. The video is fun and playful and makes courting a woman fun. It
packs a lot of laughs and we hope you will enjoy the great cast of performers
in the video.
Mr. Winney and
AnyKindBeats produced the song, which is a blend of Afrobeat and the
traditional "Bend Skin" dance from Western Cameroon. It’s an up tempo dance tune that we
hope will become a hit for the clubs.
The video for “Allez” is
directed by Dr. Nkeng Stephens who also directed Daphne’s prior music videos, “Mother’s Love”, “Gunshot” and “Rastafari”. Dr. Nkeng Stephen’s work speak for itself; having
direct number one videos like “Seriously” by Cool Kid and P.I.M Boys “Ici Au Camer” which is currently being touted as the best
video out this year in Cameroon.
“Allez” is the first
single after her debut album “Here To Stay” was released. The Kora 2016 nominee
is continuing to promote the album and was one of the performers at “Abi Reggae” 2016.
“I had fun making this
video and Les Featurist were so much fun to work with in the studio and on the
video set. I hope the fans will have as much fun, listening, watching and
dancing to ‘Allez’ as much as we did making the music." said Daphne.
New on DC is hip hop artist Eazy Priest
also the head of Ol G Muzik as he releases the video visuals to new song AKEMA shot
by Dr Nkeng Stephens in Bonanjo, Douala.
In Akema; which means "Is it mine"
in Lamnso (a Banso dialect from the North West Region), Eazy Priest expresses
the need for a change in the hip hop scene while passing across the positive
message of self believe and confidence.
The wait is
finally over! CIM Records releases the visuals to CoolKid Berka’s hit song
titled ‘Seriously’ featuring a host of other appearances from Salatiel, Dijay Karl, Smarty, Nabila and label mate Crispy.
The song,
which was produced by Beat Baller who also sang the hook, reveals some of the
ills in our society in a very light and humorous manner and the video is no
different. Dr Nkeng Stephens, the video director shot in several locations in
Buea, taking us through a journey of light heartedness and laughter with very
humorous, sometimes unconventional and very original scenes. This is by far our best video by Nkeng Stephens. 100% pure original thought process, shot angles, scene decor etc
This video is very much in line with the new
generation of Cameroon made videos, one which defines a whole new portrayal of
visuals for music videos. Check it out!
Last October, we featured the audio to Daphne's Mother's Lovehere and this weekend, we are here chilling and enjoying the beautiful and unforgettable memory that is our mother's love through Daphne's songwriting.
