« The #Team237Mag is designed to celebrate and promote young Cameroonians
working towards making Cameroon a better place by believing in themselves and
creating jobs out of their passion. »
Introducing the #team237mag! A magazine inspired by the young generation
of hard working Cameroonians who in every way are defying the odds and creating
opportunities for themselves.
As Cameroonians we are faced with so many challenges that set us back as our leaders are doing very
little to help the young Cameroonian with a dream. But even with all the
constraints these youths are breaking grounds and flying the flag high in
every field.
The mission of the magazine founders is to give young Cameroonians a magazine that is all about them, to inspire
them to believe in the beauty of their dreams, to work hard and to learn from young
entrepreneurs who are already established within the industries and to get them to join in the growth of the country
in a fun and entertaining manner. This while also promoting and safeguarding our culture by giving the entertainment
industry a push through music, movies,
fashion and photography.
Can't wait to delve in DCers! The launch date is October 19th at the London Complex Bar in Buea. All info on flyer.
Myra Maimoh's sophomore album Uniq is now released and available
on all major online platforms and it is quite the masterpiece for many
different reasons. Very rarely does an artist try to, and succeed in
accomplishing so many things in a 6 song EP.
We are taken to the very essence of who the artist is,
and what her musical range and influences have been. A marked departure from
her first album, Uniq tells a compelling story of power through adversity and
identifying one’s voice and identity; you get the feeling Myra is singing as
much to herself as she is to other people. A conviction in message carries throughout
the album.
‘A No Go Tire’ is a musical gem that sets the stage for
Myra's believe in finding a home in God and those who matter, as you go through
life's adversity. This song is so beautiful that the instrumentals are just as
powerful as the lyrics, no wonder she includes instrumentals as a separate
track. Myra sticks to her own version of soul which lends itself to her
understated vocal range and ability. She lets the song come to her. Her message
of hope shines through as the Spanish guitar takes centre stage - simply
sublime.
She ratcheted things up with 'On Va Danser', which is as
smooth an afrobeat-rnb track as there is out there. Her Cameroonian and African
roots shines through the drums and bilingual lyrics. A call to dance and make
merry in appreciation of her motherland.
‘Feh Vitavivi’ is the track that settles you down to into
your soulful place. It lets Myra's voice carry the track as she explores the
idea of emerging with power in a mix of English and one of the languages of her
fatherland. The musical cadence of the song and instruments transpose you into
a different sphere of relaxation and inflection - a true 'listener’s' song if
ever there was any.
She brings the power and energy back with the most
complex song in the repertoire as we are transported by 'Beau Parleur' into a
festival of drums, and percussions, and counter rhythms for which African music
is so widely noted. Beau Parleur acts as a counter weight to the more extravagant
promise songs of the RnB world. Her play on the empty promises, that people are
usually are subjected to shows the mind and thinking of the singer philosopher,
all combined in a festival for the ears and work for the feet! Breathtaking is
the word that comes to mind.
Her title track, ‘Uniq’ which has a newly released video
shot in Cameroon by renowned Adah Akenji, is one for the ages. A hip hop packed
girl power anthem which still has some Africa infused into it. Here, we see
Myra the vocalist let loose - her adlibs and octave changes are only matched in
effectiveness by the sick bass drops and catchy chorus - all this while still
delivering a message of uniqueness and belief to every young girl and lady who
dares listen to themselves and their own abilities. Uniq, her most cross
over song delivers to a wider audience of listeners, but it still stays true to
who she is in delivering a positive message!
The album rounds up with a collaboration reggae hip-hop
track 'Faraway' with the sultry and sensationally lazy voice of Tboi. Once more
a song sang in yet another language - pidgin, but a song that shows Myra the
vocalist unafraid to share the spotlight with another powerful artist. A song
of hope that makes us know wherever we are in our struggles, or successes are
not that far away.
You round up the album with instrumentals by enjoying the
genius and various influences of the talented and international producers who
collaborated to make this album so simply, 'Uniq'.
Uniq the album, is a triumph in the S-trifecta - Sound,
Song, Soul. It leaves you quite wanting more but not being unsatisfied. An
album well worth its price tag and more. Two thumbs up! The album is available to buy on her website as well as on iTunes, Amazon.
Past Life is a song by Mokambe a gospel

not let their past influence their present negatively.

provide a platform for people to excel. This concept initiated by FabAfriq
PR and supported by reputable organisations seeks to work in partnership with
companies understanding the need for progress, community spirit, corporate
social responsibility, employee engagement, empowerment… It is an HR driven
initiative and has a strong aspect of marketing best practices.
“We believe the time has come to cash on the wealth of
successful organisations by recognising best practices and setting enduring
human resource standards”, says the President of the Board of Directors,
Perrial Jean Nyodog.
The organising team have carefully thought through and
classified the research into six categories: Customer Service (with a focus on
internal customer services), Corporate social Responsibility, Investor in
People, Gender Equal Opportunities, Most Innovative Companies and Employer of
Choice.
Every company in Cameroon registered under the Ohada
system, with over 50 employees, physically located in Cameroon, consent to

US based Cameroonian artist Vreezy
Ville released a few weeks ago his new single titled 'Shakiti Dab' featuring
Camer's rap diva Askia. The song shows off Vreezy Ville's versatility while
also exposing how dynamic he is as an artist - he raps and sings, hitting high
notes we didn't know his vocals could stretch to.
The song is meant to bridge the western
and African cultureintegrating the Nigerian original dance move 'Shakiti'
with the American urban dance move 'Dab’. The beat is a smooth blend of
afro-beats/jazz/hip hop and reggae.
Askia adds a unique
feminine flare to the song spicing it up even more. Shakiti Dab is one of those
songs that you would want to vibe to, anytime and anywhere. Click here to

The
song which was inspired by ‘love’ and ‘marriage’ is definitely going to be on
your ‘love song’ playlist. It is a mature sound which exudes contagious
emotions and nostalgic feelings. Surely all brides, grooms, fiancés and lovers
will be dancing to it this season. It was produced by ace producer; Slimbeatz.
The
video is a trendsetter! Spiced up with romance, colour and antiques, it is a
perfect blend and reflection of love. It was directed by American based
Cameroonian video director, Tembi Muna. Eddy Bee is definitely in a quest to
consistently bless us with that feel good music!
Kikoh
Innocent Sentie A.K.A Kikoh, was born in 1993 and his love for music started in
2008.In 2010, he released his first single
which received positive feedback. Often referred to as the LIL KESH of
Cameroon, his undisputed talent brought him close to a big brother in the
industry in the form of Dijay Pazzo, with whom hehas been working
behind the scenes ever since.
Recently
signed to BlueBerry City, a record label piloted by Dijay
Pazzo and Chinois, Kikoh is presently working
in collaboration with other big names in the
industry and has now released his debut single
"MUKUM" produced also by Dijay Pazzo. In his silence, he has many
things to say "... I love music and I
am a workaholic working to fulfill my heart's desires..."
The
upcoming artist is on the verge of breaking the stereotype mindset of the
African music industry with innovation and with a cultural go-getting
afropop song, “Mukum”. “Mukum”, which is
a general name in the North West of Cameroon originates from the Kom clan and
it is the biggest masquerade of all the masquerades. Kikoh uses the name Mukum
as a sort of respect to every boss. According to him, when you are boss in your
office, you are a MUKUM (a sort of “Baba”)
“…the name Mukum is related to every boss in his field, whether
you are a football player, fashion designer, president, blogger, director, you
are a mukum…”
The song
is a very powerful pidgin oriented song with few words mentioned in the
French Language. Well written with a thought-out and captivating title as
Mukum, Kikoh seeks not only to shock the African market with his originality,
his witty lyrical lines, but also to shock the lost rhythm and cultural values in
African music.
Mukum is
a cross border song, it's mind blowing, it’s a hit,
it a song that everyone in the world will be able to relate to, because
in every country you find a rich, famous, influential person who is a Mukum.
Also, not only because of the language but also because of the beautifully
patterned instrumentals and ancestral male chorus we used to hear chanted by ancient
warriors at warfront.
West Don is a singer & songwriter also popularly
known as The King of Ajebota born in Kumba, Cameroon where he started singing
and dancing pop dance popularly known as Michael Jackson from childhood before
setting up a recording studio called Westox Recordz in his later years which
most artists from Kumba town passed through.
West Don recently released Mange Mon Argent; an afro pop
song produced by Phillbillbeatz which is a mixture of bensikin, makossa and pop and sung in English, French
and Pidgin.
I Don’t Wanna Die Broke is a single released with a beat I
Don’t Wanna Die Broke by Richie F from his upcoming EP, King Richard is full of
meticulously crafted punchlines and messages on a trap beat produced by Ovadoz,
mastered by Bissai Music with the artwork done at King Chris Graphics by Prosper
Menkoh.
It is a song meant to motivate people to work harder
(hustle). It is a movement whose objective is to create and encourage a certain
work consciousness by conveying several messages and life truths, one of which
is the fact that you have no control over the kind of family and condition you
are born into, but everybody has a fair opportunity of making their lives
better through hard work (hustle).
