WHAT'S NEW 237?! #NEWVIDEORELEASES #TRENDCAMER

Hello dear readers, it has been a few days since we posted apologies. So today we wanted to bring to your attention to a few new video releases currently making rounds around the Camer showbiz scene.

Here they are...

"Bennam" is a modernised Western Highlands influenced track by Hope Music Group signee Michael Kiessou. It is great to see how our culture can be reinterpreted and brought to life in the 21st century. The track was produced by PhilJohn and mixed and mastered by DK Kriss. Kudos to NS Pictures for shooting the video. Enjoy!

This is a very good song from 4 piece group Da Thrill who gained notoriety after winning the Nescafe competition. The video for "Je Te Yah Moh" was released at the end of January this year. The styling could have been much better nonetheless the track itself is so good! Check it below...

France based Franky P Davodva seems to be an already recognised name in the Cameroon music scene and recently he dropped a high class video for his track "On Fait Ca Bien" shot by Cameroon's number one and highly acclaimed video director Shamack. The video depicts a playboy jetsetter who really knows how to "fait ca bien" with the blings, the chicks and the drinks in the club. His style is much Americanised with a hint of Matt Houston. Check it below...

"Afe Nkap" by rapper Ngoma has been on the lips and Facebook statuses of many and we could not wait to have this video on our blog especially after seeing the teaser which was released at the end of last year. With a highly original video, a highly original song and a highly original flow by Ngoma, this definitely makes one of our best track and video for 2014. Kudos to Adah the video director. Watch it below...

The Cameroon entertainment industry is slowly moving in the right direction...kudos to all working hard to make this happen.

Until next time...Stay sweet

MTN CAMEROON CEO "HANGS" OUT ON GOOGLE HANGOUT...

Dear DC readers so it seems one of the largest telecoms agencies in Cameroon, South African led MTN have joined the trendy tech buffins by organising a Google Plus Hangout for their CEO Mr Karl Olutokun Toriola who has been the Chief Executive Officer in Cameroon since November 2011 to virtually meet and "chat" with the customers.

Surprisingly many including us were not aware of this Hangout which took place 2 days ago and as we further gathered, due to the restrictions imposed the hanging out sessions was not as free as it should have been.

So for such a large multinational agency with a social media presence, why was this session not publicised? Why was it not trending on the day? Why were restrictions imposed? According to Mr Toriola, there will be another in about 2 months...let's see what happens next!

Watch the "Hangout" below...

SIPEC; BRINGING KEY PEOPLE & BUSINESSES TOGETHER...

As the famous saying goes, it is not about what you know but rather who you know and one budding events organiser shows us why we need to pay more attention to our networks by founding SIPEC, an acronym for Sherai’s Initiative for Promoting Entrepreneurs in Cameroon.

What is it's main aim?

This initiative seeks to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship in Cameroon through identifying entrepreneurs and small businesses and creating a platform whereby their services and products can be marketed in a fun and light hearted way.

They provide the space, some beautiful music, nice chilled drinks, some well marinated finger foods and a mix of intelligent people and voilà an environment where ideas are exchanged and business partnerships formed!

The kick off event...

Sheraiz Delightz, the events planning company behind the SIPEC initiative kicked off the under the theme of: Networking, a key tool for successful business at the White House Restaurant in Bonapriso gathering about 150 people - a mix of entrepreneurs, media personnels, and professionals as well as introducing 10 companies to the attended guests.

So, what next?

The SIPEC events are scheduled to run quarterly in different parts of the country. The next edition is already booked for Thursday April 24th 2014 at the White House Restaurant.

And the brainchild is...

Etonde aka Sherai is the founder and CEO of Sheraiz Delightz an Events Management company in Douala, Cameroon. Etonde has held many sales roles in the past 6 years and understands the challenges of closing deals with clients. Through SIPEC, she wants to see companies work with each other and entrepreneurs move from small to big. “We all need each other”, she says.

Some images of the event below...

Etonde herself!

And that was SIPEC, the travelling networking event that is aimed at bringing people and businesses together under 1 platform a city at a time. Watch out for the next one near you! Kudos Etonde.

NEW MUSIC ALERT: THE GODMOTHER EP BY BAMENDA BASED RAPPER TILLA

From one rapper post to another and this time we have Bamenda based Bertilla aka TILLA who today released a 5 track EP with a featuring from another proud Bamenda child; Magasco.

These 5 tracks opens us up to the world of TILLA and we get to see how multi faceted and diverse she can be. Yes, she can sing, she can also rap and yes she can be a bad ass chick too!

From the mellowed down sing along club banger "Fire Bun Dem" where she introduces to us to who she is. She is TILLA the Banso chick who chills on the VIP area and drives a brand new car and if we want to know more about her, www.tilla.com is where you will get more of her.

On the ragga influenced "Remote Control" TILLA takes us onto the dance floor where we must all show our whining skills. On "Alhadji", we see a "runs girls" hustler attitude where she is all about the money...can she really fall for that?

If you thought TILLA couldn't be a bad ass chick then "Jungle" will prove you wrong. TILLA takes it hardcore and brings it back to the "street" with a ghetto hustler attitude in this jungle which she finds herself in.

The last track "My Kingdom" with Drake influenced Magasco; TILLA proclaims her position as the "top chef" in this Camer rap kitchen. Other rapper chicks better be aware then as it seems TILLA is not about to back down easily!

We are excited to see that the female rap scene is fast developing with artists such as TILLA, Askia and Ciana - all very talented and multi faceted. It is about to become an explosive 2014 then!!

Okay so check out the EP below...happy listening!!
