The public were encouraged to vote via this site http://www.award.blaxity.com/ for the artists who they thought deserved the awards in the different categories.
Nevertheless, rumours have been circulating online that the award show seemed to have been rigged as some artists who were supposed to have won an award didn't.
What happened??
So here are the official names of those who were winners on the night....check them out carefully!
- RnB Artist: Duc Z
- Rap Album: Sissongho MC’s
- Revelation 2012 : Black Larue
- Maxi/Single/Street Album : Danielle Eog
- Hip hop Label: MuMaK
- Artiste Rap : Boudor
- Album Fusion : One Rocky - I go love you
- Compilation 2012 : Believe Records
- Video Producer Female Video: February 16th - Renise - Holy Wata
- Video Producer Male Video: Red Zone - Moustapha - Le voyageur
Now see below images we compiled from the votes on the voting site...feel free to compare in the appropriate category...!
So February 16 seems to be the only one in our findings who truly deserved his award based on votes |
And we keep pointing our fingers at the government when we cannot even deal with a small case as an award. What a SHAM!!!
Oh Cameroon...one day it'll be better...
Stay sweet

How up to date are the pics of the voting? is there a time stamp to show if it truly represents the results after the deadline?...
ReplyDeleteI my humble opinion, the industry is too young and doesn't have enough players in the categories to be having a "competition"...its like awarding 1st 2nd and 3rd place awards to a running event where only 4 participated....
On what basis is their talent judged? the size of their fan base or their musical composition/technical skills?

Hmm,I read on another blog (I think CamerVibe or Ngwane's blog, not too sure which) that "Anglophone" artists were sidelined and always have been. What I have to say is that if the Anglos are of the opinion they were cheated, or were invited just to make up numbers, then maybe they should think about creating their own awards? Or focussing on "Anglophone" - created awards like the CEA?
ReplyDeleteIn any case we can't really judge from afar if we were not part of the process. Who knows what all the criteria were?
@ Petite Niche, I disagree. I think there are well enough players in the hip-hop scene in Cameroon. And when is too young?

ReplyDeleteYoutube speaks for itself. None of of those so called winners come close to the hits that Jovi has!
ReplyDeleteMa Petite Niche, the images of the votes were done 2 days after the show.
ReplyDeleteApparently the founder of the awards decides who gets the crown basically.
