25 EQUALS 25: EDDY BESONG

Welcome to DC, as you are aware DC is currently running a campaign to showcase the different talents causing waves in the Camer music scene. So from now until Christmas day, we urge you to come back and be informed!

All these talents are difinitely talents to watch out for and for their sheer determination and influences, we know they will make it.

Can they make it? YES THEY CAN! And today the eighth day to Christmas, DC brings to you...

Name: Eddy Besong aka Eddy B

Age: 27

Location: Dallas, TX (USA)

Label: Unsigned

Contact: Facebook: Eddy Besong or by emailing eddybesong82@gmail.com

DC: Hello Eddy, thanks for talking to DC. Describe to us your sound.
Eddy: My sound is mainstream RnB and Afrobeat but I am also versatile. I talk about things that bring forward African culture and I also talk about daily issues, love, happiness etc.

DC: Tell us about Avenue C, how did you get together?
Eddy: Avenue C stands for Cameroon Avenue and it is a group that is growing. What we are trying to do is to incorporate as many Cameroonian artists as possible into this group. At the moment it comprises myself, H Bolo and Naomi Achu and we all knew each other prior to joining the group.

DC: You have a track entitled Mama Africa, who wrote the lyrics and why did you choose to sing about Africa?
Eddy: Actually the whole idea is mine but everyone wrote their verses in this song and it features H Bolo and Naomi Achu. Basically we are trying to bring out there the positive and versatile part of Africa which is often ignored.

DC: Do you think it is important for musicians to write their own songs?
Eddy: Oh yes, absolutely because it makes you bring out your originality and the real you in your music. If you don’t write your own music, you cannot bring out the best of you.

DC: If your friends were to describe you in 4 adjectives what would they choose?
Eddy: Down to earth, Cool, Friendly and Brotherly.

DC: Apart from music, what else are you passionate about?
Eddy: Right now I am a registered nurse by profession which I am very passionate about. I would also love to branch into acting in the future.

DC: Which artists would you love to work with?
Eddy: I would love to work with all upcoming and established African artists as well as major mainstream ones such as Joe and Akon etc

DC: What do you hope for in 2010?
Eddy: Wow, I hope for peace in Africa and a better relation between Africans. I also hope to increase my writing ability and reach as many people as possible with my music so they can see what I have to offer.

DC: How do you plan on spending Christmas?
Eddy: I plan on spending it with family and friends in Texas.

Without further ado, here is the track Mama Africa enjoy!

So there you go, another day another talent!!!
See you tomorrow for more.
Stay sweet
Dulce
